Personal Bests:

5K: 18:22
10K: 39:05
Half Marathon: 1:22:51
Marathon: 2:51:37

Proudest running achievement in 2018: My proudest running achievement in 2018 was running a 3:04 at CIM, it was a 20 min PR. I am also proud of my training cycle for CIM, I was running 60 to 70 miles a weeks.

I was going to run the 2018 Boston Marathon, but I had problems with my hamstring. I couldn’t run for 4 weeks. I started physical therapy, learned how to take care of it, did some cross training, and I started walk/run only 3 miles a day adding 2 miles a week. I felt strong again by July, when I started my training for the marathon.

Goals for 2020:

1- Run a 2:45 marathon.
2- Lower my 5K and 10K personal bests.
3- Stay healthy, and have fun!

College: I am originally from Brasil, where I got my degree in Business Administration at University of Itajuba. I moved to the US about 12 years ago. After I got my degree I decided to come to US and my plan was to stay here for only one year and study the language, but I met my husband and decided to stay. We have 2 boys, 4th and 6th grade.

Career: I am a Cross Country coach at Nolan Catholic High School. I am also a parent volunteer at my kids elementary school.

Inspiration for running: My dad was a great soccer player, he was an athlete for 40 years. He would play soccer every single day, sometimes 2 times a day. About 5 years ago he had a back surgery and hip replacement, so he couldn’t run and play soccer anymore. He was really sad about it, he would give anything to be able to play again. Seeing that happen made me thankful that I am healthy and I wanted to run for him. So, I started running for him and for everyone that can’t.
