College: Southern Methodist University – BS Applied Physiology and Enterprise; MS Sport Management

Career: I am currently a high school cross country/ track and field coach. I also work in sales and marketing for a start up hydration company called SOS Rehydrate.

Inspiration for running: In March 2014, 2 months before I graduated from college, a member of my team was found unresponsive in her apartment. Like me, she was a walk on at our D1 university. She was the toughest, most admirable girl I have every been teammates with. As the team captain, I was responsible for keeping the emotions of my team (and myself) in line with the remaining meets we had left. 8 weeks after her death, we did the impossible and won our conference championships with only 15 members of a 21 person team scoring points. We won because we competed for something that was bigger than us. Since then, I have always run with the belief that its for something that's bigger than me. It is my desire to be an example for young girls to chase their dreams, compete with integrity, and strive for something bigger than themselves.
