What are some of your proudest running accomplishments?
I was a high school runner, but quit when I graduated. Over the years, I had pretty unhealthy habits and a sedentary lifestyle which led to excessive weight gain. I started eating healthier in 2017 and began running again in 2018 at the age of 39. Within a year and a half of running, I broke a 20 minute 5k and ran my first half marathon.

Did you hit a hurdle in your training recently, and how did you overcome it
I've been dealing with several injuries, all minor and none that are completely sidelining me but I have to stay on top of regular stretching, physical therapy exercises and foam rolling to manage them.
Looking into 2021 - what is an activity/race/goal that you hope to achieve or will push you out of your comfort zone?
I am hoping when races return that I can run a sub 40 minute 10k and a sub 90 minute half marathon; I also hope to improve my time in the 5k.
What is your career/how do you spend your day?
I am a full time primary care pediatrician and I love my job! When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 kids and my dog.
Where did you grow up and attend school? I grew up in south Fort Worth and moved to Lewisville when I was 10. I attended Marcus High School in Flower Mound and then went to undergraduate school at UT Austin. I went to UT Southwestern at Dallas for medical school and completed my pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center before moving back to Fort Worth with my family.
